R-Leaf active bed base module

The active bed base module is an elegant and cost effective solution to actively adjust the stiffness of the mattress support in a specific zone of the bed base.

Features

The patented module consists of a double slat system, in which the upper slat is supported by the lower slat by means of coupling elements. The stiffness adjustment is done by moving a pair of sliders over the lower slat, which extends or limits the deforming cantilever and hence the bending stiffness.

R-Leaf module

The surface of the upper slats always remain at the same level, independent of the chosen stiffness setting, contrary to most other adjustable bed bases. As the stiffness adjustment is controlled by an actuator, it is not only useful in an adjustable bed base but more over as part of an active sleeping system by combining one or more of these modules in a bed base with a measuring unit (IdoShape) and an intelligent controller.

Both slat bases and box springs can be equipped with R-Leaf active bed base modules.
